Biochar (in English biochar) is carbonized biomass, primarily produced for soil application.
The main component of biochar is chemically stable carbon, which does not undergo further decomposition or oxidation. The soil will improve its structure and fertility will increase.
It differs from wood charcoal in that it is fine-grained, carbonization is not applied to piece of wood, and the resulting solid product is not used as fuel.
